career

Navarro initially played on an amateur basis for his hometown club Industrial de Tepatitlán and began his professional career at Atlas Guadalajara .

He later moved to city rivals Club Deportivo Oro , with whom he won the Mexican football championship and then the Supercup in the 1962/63 season. Both successes were won against city rivals Club Deportivo Guadalajara . In particular, he had a not inconsiderable share in winning the only championship title in the club's history of the CD Oro. When the team received championship leaders and city rivals Chivas for the last game of the season , they needed a win to win the championship title. The decisive goal to make Oro 1-0 by Brazilian Neco was preceded by a corner kicked high into the penalty area, which Chivas goalkeeper Tubo Gómez tried to intercept. According to him, he was unbalanced during this action by a strong push from Rogelio González, so that he could not bring the ball to safety. In the following scene, the goal was conceded, through which Chivas lost the desired fifth championship title in a row .

In 1964 González moved to promoted Cruz Azul , where he was under contract in the first division season in 1964/65 .
