Roger Christian (film director)
Roger Christian (* 1944 in London , England ) is a British film director .
Life
Roger Christian began his career in the film business as an assistant art director and set decorator . 1977 was awarded the Oscar in the category Best Art Direction-Set Decoration for his work on Star Wars . Two decades later he was second unit director for Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace .
He made his debut as a director in 1979 with the short film Black Angel . His first feature film followed three years later with Devilish Signals .
In 2001 he was awarded a Golden Raspberry as worst director for his best-known film Battlefield Earth . In 2013, the science fiction film The Ark - We Are Not Alone, was released in cinemas, directed by Christian .
