Roger Kiem

Roger Kiem (born March 17, 1962 in Langenthal , Switzerland ) is a German lawyer and legal scholar.

Life

Kiem studied at the Philipps University of Marburg and at the London School of Economics . In 1990 he received his Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from the London School of Economics . In the same year he was awarded a Dr. jur. PhD. As a member of various working groups, he has been involved in reform proposals on the law of the stock corporation (AG), the law of the European company (SE) and the law on bonds.

Since 2006 he has been honorary professor at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz. The focus of his teaching is on selected problems of corporate and capital market law. He has been a lawyer since 1994. His main focus is on corporate law, capital market law, mergers & acquisitions in the national and international area. From 2001 to 2013 Kiem worked as a lawyer and partner in the law firm Shearman & Sterling operates. He has been a partner at White & Case in Frankfurt am Main since 2013 . From 2010 to 2013 he was co-editor of the Corporate Finance Law (CFL).

The Legal 500 Germany ranking lists Kiem as an excellent negotiator. In 2009 he advised the emirate of Qatar on their entry into Volkswagen and Porsche, for which the emirate invested 7.5 billion euros.

Kiem is the author of numerous commentaries, handbooks and essays on partnership and stock corporation law, transformation law and capital market law, as well as company acquisitions. He is married and has one daughter.
