Roger Nordström (born April 27, 1966 in Malmö ) is a former Swedish ice hockey goalkeeper who played for the Krefeld Penguins in the German Ice Hockey League from 1983 to 2003 .

Career

Roger Nordström began his career as a hockey player in his hometown with the Malmö Redhawks , for whom he made his second-rate Division 1 debut in the 1983/84 season . After he was relegated in his rookie year with his team, he succeeded with the Redhawks in the following season of immediate promotion. In the 1989/90 season, the goalkeeper and his team succeeded in advancing to the Elitserien , in which he spent the following eight years with Malmö, with whom he became Swedish champions in 1992 and 1994 respectively . In the summer of 1998 the Swede was signed by the Krefeld Penguins from the DEL , with whom he became German champion again in the last season of his career, in the 2002/03 season .

International

For Sweden , Nordström took part in the 1994 and 1995 World Championships . Furthermore, he was in Sweden's squad at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville .
