Roger Schmidt (born June 15, 1959 in Bendorf / Rhein) lives and draws as a caricaturist and cartoonist today in Dithmarschen / Schleswig-Holstein .

After the first publications on his website in 2003, the caricatures and cartoons of Roger Schmidt are now printed by various magazines ( Cicero and others) and book publishers.

Vita and artistic career

In school, his caricatures and cartoons illustrated the school newspaper more often.

After his school days, mainly in Diez / Lahn, Roger Schmidt first completed a commercial apprenticeship because he did not want to make drawing a profession. The military service brought him to Flensburg , where he studied electrical engineering. After several years in software development, he worked as an engineer for an energy supplier in Brunsbüttel since 1992. Here he rediscovered his old passion in 1992 and completed his drawing and painting technical training, especially in nude and portrait painting, from 1993 with the graphic artist and constructivist Karl-Heinz Schlaack († 2003).

Several book illustrations followed, including comics for the book on the show "Genial besides" and the launch of his website at the end of 2003. His latest internet project is a satire on the subject of wine with lots of cartoons. Since 2006 his cartoons have also appeared regularly in the "International Games Magazine".
