Roger Velasquez

Roger Velasquez ( Daniel Roger Velasquez ; born December 11, 1943 in Markirch ) is a former French sprinter who specialized in the 400-meter run .

At the 1972 Olympic Games , he was eliminated in the quarter-finals of the individual competition. In the 4 x 400 meter relay , he won the bronze medal behind the relay from Kenya and the United Kingdom with the French team in 3: 00.65 min.

In 1974 he won the silver medal in the 4-by-2-round relay at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Gothenburg behind the Swedish relay. At the European Athletics Championships in Rome , he was a member of the French quartet, which received the bronze medal in the 4 x 400 meter relay. At the 1976 Olympics , he was eliminated in the run-up to the season.

He set his personal best of 46.15 s on July 23, 1972 in Colombes .

Roger Velasquez is 1.75 m tall and weighed 70 kg during his playing days. He started for the AS Police Paris.
