The Roland Bay ( French Baie Roland ) is a small bay on the west coast of Booth Island in the Wilhelm Archipelago off the Graham Coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located at the western end of the peninsula that separates Port Charcot from Salpêtrière Bay . The Hervéou Point forms its south bank.
Participants in the Fourth French Antarctic Expedition (1903–1905) were the first to map the bay. The expedition leader and polar explorer Jean-Baptiste Charcot named it after F. Roland, a seaman on board the research vessel Français .
