Roland Amstutz
Roland Amstutz (born January 12, 1942 in La Chaux-de-Fonds , Switzerland ; † May 20, 1997 in Recklinghausen , Germany ) was a Swiss actor .
Life
Roland Amstutz studied acting in Switzerland. He then played several times at the Théâtre Vidy-Lausanne before moving to Paris to join Ariane Mnouchkine 's theater group. This made him a regular member of the later theater collective Théâtre du Soleil . He played in productions by theater directors such as Patrice Chéreau , Jean-Hugues Anglade and Luc Bondy .
After regularly taking part in small roles in feature films from the mid-1970s, he developed into an established supporting actor from the 1980s.
Shortly before a premiere at the Ruhr Festival in Recklinghausen , Roland Amstutz died of suicide on May 20, 1997 at the age of 55 .
