Roland Büchi

Roland Büchi (born July 1, 1969 in Frauenfeld ) is a Swiss electrical engineer. He is a professor at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences ZHAW and non-fiction author for technical model making.

Career

Roland Büchi studied electrical engineering at the ETH Zurich from 1989 to 1994 . He received his doctorate there in 1996 at the Institute for Robotics and in 1998 became a lecturer at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences ZHAW . In 2003 he was appointed professor at the same university.

His research areas are control technology and drive technology , as well as the use of quadrocopters for pick and place operations in robotics.

Roland Büchi is married and has one daughter.

Non-fiction and specialist book author

He is a specialist book author at Verlag für Technik und Handwerk neue Medien GmbH, Baden-Baden. He has written several specialist books in the field of technical model making for this publisher: Fascination Quadrocopter 2010, Brushless Motors and Controllers 2011, 2.4 GHz Remote Controls 2013 and Fascination Multicopter 2015. Some of his books have also been translated into English.

In 2013 a joke book was also published under the title "Jokes and Joke Stories".

Trivia

Roland Büchi appeared together with a fellow student on the German television broadcaster in the show "Wetten dass ..?", As well as in the equivalent of a Dutch channel. They bet that out of 50 cigars they would recognize 5 types by smell alone. They successfully won the bet both times.
