Roland Balck (born March 9, 1960 in Kamenz ) is a former German soccer player in the storm. He played for Energie Cottbus and for BSG Wismut Aue in the GDR league . With Aue he also competed in the UEFA Cup .

Career

In his youth, Balck played for BSG Chemie Bernsdorf before joining the youth team at BSG Energie Cottbus . There he played in the second team until 1977. On September 4, 1977 Balck completed his first competitive game for the first team against BSG progress Bischofswerda , where they parted 1: 1. He was then replaced occasionally in the GDR league . In the 1979/80 season Balck scored seven goals in 13 missions. After promotion to the GDR league in 1981, he was used 24 times, all but one time in the starting eleven, but could only score one goal. Logically, Cottbus rose again in 1982. After 30 games and three goals in the GDR league season 1984/85 Balck moved to BSG Wismut Aue in the GDR league. There he made regular appearances in the starting XI. In 1987 Intertoto Cup Balck get four goals in six games, which he Aue earned the win in the group. 3 1987/88 Aue took part in the UEFA Cup alongside Dynamo Dresden . In the first round they prevailed against Valur Reykjavík by the away goals rule , in the second round they lost to KS Flamurtari Vlora . Balck was used in all four games, but scored no goal. In 1990 he moved to BSG Wismut Gera in the GDR league. He played eleven games for Gera, in which he scored twice. In the following years he played in low-class clubs until 1999.

After his football career he worked briefly as a player-coach at TSV Gars in 1908. He then coached three other small clubs.
