Roland Hanewald (born March 15, 1942 in Cuxhaven ) is a German travel writer and journalist.

Life

Roland Hanewald was born in Cuxhaven in 1942 and sailed the oceans as an officer in the merchant navy for over 20 years . He lived for a long time in the Philippines , which was the starting point for his first trips. At the beginning of the 1980s he switched to freelance writing and journalism; since 1995 he has lived in Neuchâtel (Friesland) . Hanewald is the author of over 50 books (including the Philippines Adventure Handbook ) and around 1200 photo reports on various countries around the world, which have so far been published in 44 countries and 18 languages. In addition, satirical notes are part of his repertoire.
