Roland Heim (born June 28, 1955 ) is a Swiss politician ( CVP ).

Life

Roland Heim grew up in Solothurn and attended school there. He studied economics at the University of St. Gallen and obtained the title mag. oec. HSG . He then worked for 30 years as a teacher for economics and law at the Solothurn Cantonal School .

Heim is married, has four children and lives in Solothurn. He is an active tambour (Alte Garde Tambourenverein Solothurn). Until his election to the government council, he also performed as a Solothurn chansonnier in his spare time. In June 2015 a CD with songs from 5 decades was released. Radio DRS has presented this CD.

Roland Heim politicized in the student parliament of the University of St. Gallen and was elected to the Solothurn Constitutional Council in 1981. Since 1992 he was a member of the Solothurn Cantonal Council , where he was a member of the Finance Commission, the Justice Commission and the WOV Commission. From 2004 he was also group president of the CVP / EPP group (from 2009: CVP / EPP / glp group) and a member of the Council Management. On April 14, 2013, he was elected to the government council of the canton of Solothurn in the second ballot, where he has been head of the finance department since August 1, 2013.
