Brigit Wyss
Brigit Wyss (born April 22, 1960 in Lüsslingen ; entitled to live there ) is a Swiss politician ( Greens ). From 2007 to 2011 she was a national councilor, since 2017 she has been a member of the Solothurn government and heads the department of economics. In 2020 she will be Mrs. Landammann (District President).
Life
From 2003 to 2017 Wyss was a member of the municipal council ( executive ) of the city of Solothurn . From April 2005 to November 2007 she was Cantonal Councilor for the Canton of Solothurn. In the elections on October 21, 2007 , Wyss was elected to the National Council. There she was a member of the Business Audit Commission (GPK), the Commission for Legal Issues (RK) and the Security Policy Commission. She was not re-elected in the 2011 elections because the Greens Solothurn could not hold the seat. Wyss was one of the three green candidates who made themselves available for the Federal Council replacement elections in the 2010 fall session. On September 3, 2010, she was finally nominated as a Federal Council candidate by the parliamentary group of the Greens.
From 2013 to 2017 she was again represented in the Solothurn Cantonal Council. In 2017 she was elected as the first Greens to the government of the Canton of Solothurn with 35% of the vote . Since August 1, 2017, she has been a member of the government of the Canton of Solothurn, where she heads the Department of Economic Affairs. In 2020 she will head the government as Ms. Landammann .
Wyss lives in a partnership, has a son and a foster daughter and lives in Solothurn. She is a trained carpenter and psychiatric nurse, then graduated from secondary school . She studied law and graduated with a licentiate . Before her election to the government council, she worked as a lawyer in the environmental sector.
