Rolf Büttiker (born June 27, 1950 in Wolfwil ) is a Swiss politician ( FDP ).

biography

Büttiker owns the Olten- based “Wirtschaftsförderung Büttiker” and is, among other things, President of the Swiss Meat Associations (SFF), the Swiss Management Organizations (SKO), the Swiss Shippers' Council (SSC), the Association of Composting Works Switzerland (VKS) and the public -rechtlichen AHV -Ausgleichskasse 34 "butcher". One of his political goals is to preserve the Swiss cervelat .

Büttiker is a member of numerous boards of directors , association boards and boards of trustees , including since January 10, 2003 a member of the board of directors of Kernkraftwerk Leibstadt AG .

Rolf Büttiker is single and lives in Wolfwil.

Rolf Büttiker was local councilor from 1977 to 2001 and from 1985 to 2001 mayor of his home community Wolfwil. In addition, Büttiker was President of the FDP Canton of Solothurn from 1990 to 1999 .

In 1987 Büttiker was elected to the National Council. After just one legislative period, he became a member of the Council of States in 1991 , to which he was a member until 2011. The high point of his political career so far was in 2005, when he was elected as the new President of the Council of States in 2006 with 43 out of 44 votes . On this occasion he was granted honorary citizenship by Wolfwil. He was most recently in the Council of States in the Committee for Transportation and Telecommunications , the State Affairs Committee , the Committee for Environment, Spatial Planning and Energy , as well as in the NEAT -Aufsichtsdelegation V .
