Roland F. Borer (born January 27, 1951 in Solothurn , resident in Kleinlützel ) is a Swiss politician ( SVP ).

Political career

In 1989 Borer took over a public office for the first time; he was elected to the Cantonal Council of Solothurn . With his election to the National Council on November 25, 1991, he gave up the cantonal office again. In the parliamentary elections on October 18, 2015, he was no longer re-elected.

As a member of the National Council, Borer was most recently a member of the Security Policy Commission (SiK), the Commission for Social Security and Health (SGK) and their sub-commissions for old-age and survivors' insurance AHV, for occupational pensions BVG and for health insurance KVG.

Borer only joined the SVP at the end of the 1990s from the Freedom Party , which he justified with the fact that there was only room for one right-wing opposition party in the canton of Solothurn . He was previously a member and from 1994 to 1998 President of the FPS.

Political profile

Borer is a conservative , cautious economically liberal politician. He advocates a restrictive migration policy and advocates Law and Order . He is critical to very critical of an increase in the state quota , demands for more environmental protection or a further opening up of Switzerland's foreign policy.

Life

Borer lives in Kestenholz and is a management consultant . He is a member of various boards of directors of small and medium-sized trading and consulting companies as well as the advisory board of the Groupe de réflexion santé of the health insurer Groupe Mutuel . Borer is an officer of the Swiss army in the degree of Major.
