Stefan Müller-Altermatt (born June 17, 1976 in Langenthal , resident in Murgenthal ) is a Swiss politician ( CVP ).

Life

Stefan Müller-Altermatt studied biology at the University of Basel . He received his doctorate in 2006 as Dr. phil. Müller-Altermatt works as a biologist and is the program manager of the Thal Nature Park .

In the parliamentary elections in 2003 , Stefan Müller-Altermatt ran for the National Council on the list of young CVP . In 2005 he was elected to the Cantonal Council of the Canton of Solothurn . In the parliamentary elections in 2007 he was elected first substitute member for the National Council for the CVP . Since 2009, Muller-Altermatt mayor of Herbetswil . In the Swiss parliamentary elections in 2011 , Stefan Müller-Altermatt was elected to the National Council. He is a member of the Commission for the Environment, Spatial Planning and Energy (UREK) .

Stefan Müller-Altermatt is President of the Christian Social Association Switzerland, founded in 2018 .

Müller-Altermatt lives in Herbetswil, is married and has four children.
