The Young Christian Democratic People's Party of Switzerland (short: Young CVP and JCVP; French: Jeunes démocrates-chrétiens suisses (JDC), Italian: Generazione Giovani (GG) and Giovani Partito Popolare Democratico (Giovani PPD), Romansh : Giuvna Partida cristiandemocratica Svizra PCD)) is the young party of CVP Switzerland .

Political priorities

Young CVP Switzerland makes the following demands in its main topics:

  • Foreign policy: The JCVP is committed to the successful continuation and expansion of foreign economic policy.
  • Education and research: The Junge CVP sees strong education as the cornerstone of a successful Switzerland. It demands more practical relevance in apprenticeships, at universities and colleges, as well as better economic framework conditions for vocational training on the part of the economy. She is of the opinion that for peaceful coexistence there must be clear rules in public schools. One of the most important concerns of the Junge CVP is the promotion of the compatibility of education and family through the economy and the state.
  • Family: The family policy of Junge CVP Switzerland is based on the challenges that families face today. Instead of playing off family models against each other, Junge CVP Switzerland puts the well-being of children at the center of its political work. The JCVP is of the opinion that children should not become a risk of poverty and that those who raise a child should be able to benefit from lower taxes. This is especially true for medium-sized families. Young CVP Switzerland is the family party. She campaigns for a more family-friendly Switzerland at all levels.
  • Health: High-quality and comprehensive medical care, even in peripheral regions, is the core concern of the JCVP's health policy. The JCVP stands up so that every person, regardless of income, age or health risk, receives good, local medical care and can participate in medical progress.
  • Public & Traffic Service: For the JCVP, the public service is an important pillar of politics and national cohesion. Junge CVP Switzerland defends the guarantee of a good quality public service that is available to all citizens throughout the country.
  • Safety: The Junge CVP is of the opinion that safety in everyday life means quality of life and serves the individual, the family, the neighborhood, the community, the canton and Switzerland as a business location. Young CVP Switzerland considers the militia army to be the best possible security instrument for Switzerland. They believe that new, global threat scenarios require new strategies to resolve them. This also includes Switzerland's participation in international organizations such as the UN and the OSCE.
  • Social services: For the Junge CVP Switzerland, social security means that the livelihood is protected in old age, in the event of illness or a stroke of fate. The JCVP is emphatically committed to a socially secure Switzerland.
  • State politics and law: It is a major concern of the Junge CVP Switzerland to organize inefficient state organizations leaner. In addition, for the JCVP the commitment to the principles of subsidiarity and solidarity is one of the most important guidelines of the state.
  • Environment and energy: The protection of the environment and natural resources are among the basic principles of Junge CVP Switzerland. The demand for new sustainable technologies is increasing worldwide and the JCVP is committed to environmental protection and renewable energies.
  • Economy: As a business party, Junge CVP Switzerland is committed to a sustainable, future-oriented and competitive economy - an economy that protects living space and uses natural resources responsibly.

Party organs

  • Party congress: The party congress deals with key issues and serves to maintain the inner cohesion of the young CVP Switzerland. The congress offers members a platform to discuss political questions that are important for the state and society and especially for the youth.
