Young Party (Switzerland)
In Switzerland, a young party is a political youth association in which young people with the same political orientation come together and there are usually upper age limits. For various reasons, the young parties are affiliated to a large party , their mother party, as a youth organization . You still act as an independent body.

In Winterthur there was a Young Lions on the municipal council from 1966 to 1974 . Although they did not have a parent party, when they were elected to the municipal council in 1966 they appointed the youngest municipal parliamentarian in Switzerland at the time.
Significance of the young parties
Political orientation of the young parties
Although the young parties are dependent on the support of the parent party , they are free to choose their own political orientation independently. However, most members of a young party are also members of the parent party, which means that the opportunities for political participation or participation as candidates in elections are greater. In election campaigns , the cantonal and municipal sections of the young parties usually try to draw up their own lists , which are, however , linked to the list of the parent party.
