Franziska Roth (born April 17, 1966 in Solothurn ) is a Swiss politician ( SP ) and a national councilor since 2019 .

Franziska Roth, a curative teacher by profession , has been a member of the Solothurn Cantonal Council since 2009 . She was a member of the Education and Culture Commission (BIKUKO) of the Cantonal Council. She is the president of the SP of the canton of Solothurn, and also a councilor in the city of Solothurn .

2017 ran unsuccessfully against Roth again antretenden incumbent Kurt Fluri for the office of the Solothurn City President . In October 2018 it was announced that Roth would run for the National Council elections in autumn 2019. In the parliamentary elections on October 20, 2019 , Roth was elected to the National Council and replaces the previous Philipp Hadorn .

Roth has two grown children and lives in Solothurn.

In the neighboring canton of Aargau , Franziska Roth, born in 1964 (non-party, previously SVP ), a politician of the same name, was a member of the government council (cantonal government) from 2017 to 2019 . This occasionally leads to confusion.
