Kestenholz is a municipality in the Gäu district in the canton of Solothurn in Switzerland .
geography
Kestenholz is located on the southern edge of the Gäu district, where it borders on the canton of Bern . Its neighboring communities are Oensingen , Oberbuchsiten , Niederbuchsiten and Wolfwil in the canton of Solothurn, and Schwarzhäusern and Niederbipp in the canton of Bern, clockwise from the west . The northern border runs along the A1 motorway . The southern third is taken up by the longitudinal forest .
