Susanne Schaffner (* 1962 in Däniken ; legal resident in Anwil ; bourgeois Susanne Schaffner-Hess ) is a Swiss politician ( SP ).

Life

Susanne Schaffner grew up as the oldest child of a farming family in Däniken. After graduating from the canton school in Olten and completing basic commercial training with subsequent work as a secretary in the private sector, she studied law at the University of Basel . After being patented as a lawyer and notary, she ran a law firm in Olten together with partners from 1998 until her election to the government council in 2017 . Susanne Schaffner is married and has two grown children. She lives in Olten.

Susanne Schaffner has been politically active since her youth and was a member of the municipal council (executive) and the local planning commission of Däniken from 1989 to 1991.

From 2005 to 2017 Schaffner was a member of the Solothurn Cantonal Council , where she represented the social democratic parliamentary group on the Social and Health Commission from 2005 to 2007 and then on the Finance Commission until 2017. She was the latter as President from 2009 to 2013. In 2012 Susanne Schaffner was the first Vice President and in 2013 President of the Cantonal Council.

In 2017 Schaffner was elected to the Solothurn Government Council, where she took over the Department of the Interior. In this function, as the representative of the canton of Solothurn , she is a board member of the conference of cantonal social directors SODK as well as a member of the conference of cantonal health directors GDK and a member of the conference of cantonal judicial and police directors KKJPD . She is also the representative of the canton of Solothurn in the specialist directors 'conference Lottery Market and Lottery Act FDKL , in the Health Directors' Conference of Northwestern Switzerland GDK NWCH , in the Police Concordat of Northwestern Switzerland PKNW as well as in the penal concordat of the Northwestern and Central Switzerland Police and the Intercantonal University of Honduras .

Susanne Schaffner is a member of the executive board of the SP Canton Solothurn and was President of the SP Däniken and President of the Economic and Financial Affairs Committee of the SP Canton Solothurn. Until 2017, Schaffner was vice-president of the tenants' association in Olten and the surrounding area , president of the Aargau-Solothurn patient center and president of the cantonal disability committee .
