Roland L'Amour Nyama (born July 11, 1993 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German basketball player of Cameroonian descent. He is  under contract with the Tigers Tübingen .

career

Nyama played in his hometown of Frankfurt am Main  in the youth team of FTG Frankfurt , later he played for Eintracht Frankfurt and in the second men's team of the Skyliners Frankfurt in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB .

In 2011 Nyama went to the United States, spent two years at the Holderness School in the state of New Hampshire , where he acted as team captain and averaged 20.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and six basket assists per match in the 2012/13 season. before studying at Stony Brook University in New York State in 2013  . In the 2013/14 season he had not yet booked any appearances for the college's basketball team and then made his debut in the 2014/15 season. By the end of the 2016/17 season, Nyama had played a total of 98 games for Stony Brook, with an average of 6.9 points and 3.2 rebounds per encounter. After his final season of 2016/17 he was honored for his defense work and voted among the top five defensive players of the America East Conference.

In July 2017 Nyama signed  his first contract as a professional basketball player with the PS Karlsruhe Lions . The “Löwen” had made it to the 2nd Bundesliga ProA in the preseason  . In his first year as a professional basketball player, Nyama made it to the semi-finals of the 2nd Bundesliga ProA with the Karlsruhe team, he was used in 31 matches this season and recorded an average of 6.5 points and 2.3 rebounds per game. Nyama, who is particularly known for his strengths in defense, increased his point value in his second year in Karlsruhe to 8.5 per match. In April 2019 he was signed by Karlsruhe's second division competitor Tübingen .

National team

In 2009 Nyama was appointed to the German U16 national team.
