Rolf-Dieter Kahnt (born October 5, 1952 in Weißenfels ) is a former German soccer goalkeeper . He played for FC Vorwärts Frankfurt (Oder) and BSG Energie Cottbus in the GDR league .

Career

In his youth Kahnt played for his hometown clubs BSG Motor Weißenfels and BSG Progress Weissenfels before he joined Hallescher FC Chemie in 1969 . In 1971 he moved to FC Vorwärts Berlin for a month . In the same year, FC Vorwärts Frankfurt / Oder signed him. Already in the 1972/73 season Kahnt made his debut in the GDR league. On December 16, 1972 he was substituted on for Holger Keipke after half-time in the 5-3 defeat against Rot-Weiß Erfurt . Then he remained the goalkeeper until the end of the season. In the following season 1973/74 Kahnt completed all league games. After that it was used only a few times. At the 1974/75 UEFA Cup he was in the first round against Juventus Turin , but had to be replaced in the first leg in the 15th minute by Eckhardt Kreutzer . Frankfurt won the game 2-1. In 1976, Kahnt moved to BSG Stahl Eisenhüttenstadt before he was signed in 1977 by BSG Energie Cottbus, which played in the second-rate GDR league. Until 1980 it was only used sporadically. In the 1980/81 season he came on 20 missions and managed with Cottbus promotion to the league, where he completed only one game. By the end of his career in 1987, Kahnt was still in 23 league games in action.
