Rolf Bergmeier (born December 13, 1957 in Cuxhaven ) is a German sculptor and lives in Hamburg .

At the beginning of the 1980s he attracted attention with unauthorized redesigns of heroes and war memorials. In 1983 and 1984 he examined with "Command Perle - a healing treatment of latent fascism in the area of German state power" the possibilities of the fine arts to exert direct influence. Bergmeier subjected his work to continuous experimentation for almost 20 years until he found his style in 1997 with his “Oil on Wood” sculptures. These works consist of networks of branches that enclose space without delimiting or restricting it. In 1998 “Oil on Wood / 1” is shown in the Salder salon in the Salzgitter Municipal Collection.

In 2003 Bergmeier received the Pollock-Krasner Scholarship in New York. An "oil on wood" sculpture has been on view in the New Weserburg Museum in Bremen since 2004 . The work has now grown to 70 sculptures. Rolf Bergmeier was involved in the sculpture project "sculpture @ CityNord", within the framework of which from May 14th to September 24th 2006 thirty contributions by international artists were shown in the City Nord Park Hamburg. In 2007 he had a solo exhibition in the National Gallery of Macedonia .
