Wulf Kirschner (born September 26, 1947 in Kiel ) is a German painter and sculptor .

Life

From 1970 to 1976 Kirschner completed a degree in painting and graphics at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg and a degree in philosophy at the University of Hamburg (Master of Arts). This was followed by a two-year training from 1976 to 1978 in addition to studying sculpture at the University of Fine Arts there.

In 1980 the artist received a work grant at the Ebernburg artists' station . Two years later he organized the “First Symposium North Sea Coast - Artists in Front of the Dike” , which he repeated in 1984 under the symposium theme Weather . Also in 1984 he received the Barkenhoff grant from Worpswede and funding from the Art Fund Foundation in Bonn.

After receiving the Lower Saxony Art Prize (1991), he began working on the idea and realization of The Great Wall - The Endless Line , an art project for the Great Wall in China, from 1996 . Numerous exhibitions at home and abroad. He lives and works in Frankfurt and Hamburg.
