Rik Reinking

Rik Reinking (born February 10, 1976 in Hamburg ) is a German art collector , art dealer and curator .

Reinking was honored in 2006 by the initiative of the Federal Government of Germany - Land of Ideas , as Germany's 100 Heads of Tomorrow . In the justification he is honored as a collector with an extraordinary eye for quality who owns one of the most exciting collections of young contemporary art in Europe .

The British Apollo Magazine selected him in 2014 in the category “Collectors” in the “40 under 40” in the selection of the most talented young Europeans who advance today's art world.

In 2007, Reinking founded Artfonds 21 AG, ​​a stock corporation that has a profit-oriented goal when building an art collection.

Life

Reinking, who grew up in Oldenburg , claims to have bought his first picture at the age of 16 on the way to school. This is a self-portrait by the painter Horst Janssen , which he acquired in a gallery in 1992 for 250 DM. From 1996 Reinking studied law and art history in Hamburg. Together with artist friends he organized in 1997 his first art project in the Old Elbe Tunnel . Numerous exhibition participations followed as organizer, curator and lender.

Reinking Collection

The collection includes works by around 200 artists. Starting with art from the sixties, the collection includes works from Informel , Fluxus , Minimalism , Conceptual Art , Urban Art ( graffiti / Street Art ) and contemporary painting.
