Rudolf Beu (born July 16, 1957 in Bonn ) is a German politician and was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ).

Life

Beu attended school in his native Bonn. After completing his technical college entrance qualification, he completed a commercial apprenticeship, studied business administration at the University of Applied Sciences in Cologne, completed his civil service at the Bonn University Hospital and then took on a job as a social advisor in the Office for Education Funding of the Bonn Student Union. As a ver.di (then ÖTV) representative, he was temporarily a member of the staff council. Beu has been a member of the Bonn Sport Club since 1987. After living in Endenich for many years, he has lived in the Dransdorf district since 2000 .

Beu is a founding member of the DIE GRÜNEN party. Before that he was active in the Alternative and Green List Bonn. With interruptions due to rotation, he has been a city councilor in the city council of Bonn since 1984. In 2009, he was directly elected to the city council in his constituency in Endeich / Weststadt. He is chairman of the Bonn planning and transport committee and transport and sport policy spokesman for the GREEN council group in Bonn. At the local transport associations Rhineland and Rhein-Sieg he is a member of the respective special purpose association assembly. Rolf Beu is spokesman for cultural policy in the Rhineland Regional Council of the LVR and parliamentary group chairman in the Cologne Regional Council. From 2012 to 2017 he was a member of the GRÜNEN state parliament in NRW. In the state elections in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2012 , he won a mandate on his party's state list. In the parliamentary group of Bündnis90 / DIE GRÜNEN, Rolf Beu was the spokesman for public transport and rail policy as well as the representative for the regional councils and landscape associations. He was a member of the construction and transport committee and the sports committee of North Rhine-Westphalia and was elected to the board of the parliamentary group railway. In the local elections in May 2014, he was re-elected directly to Bonn's city council with a record result of 37% (over 50% in individual voting districts).
