Rolf Lindemann (born August 1957 in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse ) is a German politician . He is a member of the Social Democratic Party of Germany and since February 9, 2017 district administrator of the Brandenburg district of Oder-Spree .

Life

Rolf Lindemann studied law at the Universities of Bielefeld and Münster , then Administrative Science at the Administrative Sciences College Speyer . In August 1990 he became head of the legal office in what was then the district of Beeskow . In February of the following year, Lindemann joined the SPD. According to the district reorganization law and the resulting establishment of the Oder-Spree district on December 6, 1993, Rolf Lindemann was elected by the district council to a working group after the district was re-established.

In the following years Lindemann carried out various activities in the area of ​​the district administration. From 1994 to 2002 he was department head for law, organization and personnel, from 2002 to 2004 department head for law, order, veterinary affairs and agriculture and then until 2010 department head for basic security. In 2010 he was elected second alderman by the district council and as such became head of the job center and of the social, youth and health department of the Oder-Spree district. From 2015 until it was outsourced to its own office on May 1, 2016, Lindemann was also head of the staff for refugee integration.

In the direct election to the district administrator on November 26, 2016, Lindemann received a total of 37 percent of the votes and thus entered the runoff election , which he was also able to win against Sascha Gehm from the CDU on December 11, 2016. However, since no representative election result was achieved due to the low turnout, there was a special district meeting on January 25, 2017, at which Rolf Lindemann was finally elected district administrator. Lindemann took office on February 9, 2017, replacing his non-party predecessor Manfred Zalenga .

Rolf Lindemann has been President of the District Synod in the Evangelical Church District Oder-Spree since April 2014 . He is married, has two daughters and lives in Beeskow .
