The Rolf Rock is a small and isolated cliff rock off the north coast of South Georgia . In Hound Bay it is 2.5 km south-southeast of Tijuca Point .
The South Georgia Survey took surveys between 1951 and 1952. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1955 after the Rolf , the first factory ship for whaling in the waters around South Georgia, which had been anchored in Grytviken in the service of the Compañía Argentina de Pesca from 1904 .
