Rolf Schnier

Rolf Schnier (* 1960 ) is a German skat player and 2016 world skat champion from the International Skat Players Association (ISPA).

At the 20th Skat World Championship in 2016 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas / USA , Schnier was world champion in the individual ranking with 5,572 points and also achieved two wins in a row. Schnier lives with his family in the Aachen district of Eilendorf and has been a member of the skat club "Ohne Elf La Calamine" from Kelmis in Belgium since 1983 . As a result, he starts for the national team of Belgium, which took second place in the Nations Cup in Las Vegas. In 2002 he had already won the world championship in the Nations Cup with the Belgian national team in Grömitz .

The trained plumber and full-time porter of the Aachen town hall Schnier has been playing skat since he was six and took part in tournaments from the age of 14. For more than 20 years he has also played for the Bundesliga Group West. Before his world championship title in 2016, Schnier was Belgian champion in 2001 and 2005 and achieved numerous other top placings in important international competitions both individually and with the team, including 10th place at the European Skat Championship 2013 in St. Vith .
