Rolf Seim (born April 7, 1928 in Hohndorf ; † January 15, 2015 ) was a German professor of mineralogy and geochemistry .

Seim was a graduate of the Bergakademie Freiberg , which he left in 1953 as a qualified mineralogist. After training to become a research assistant (1954), senior assistant (1958) and research assistant (1959), he was a lecturer in mineralogy at the University of Rostock from 1965 to 1968 . In 1968 he was appointed Professor of Geochemistry in the Geological Sciences Section at the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt University of Greifswald and from 1975 to 1992 he was Professor of Mineralogy and Geochemistry. This is the first time that a chair for mineralogy and geochemistry in Greifswald has been filled again.
