Cast
The cast in the theater or in stage plays , in film and in television series is the distribution of roles to suitable actors from their own theater ensemble or - especially in films and series - to specially engaged guest actors (see Casting ).
The cast in spoken theater is made by the theater director in collaboration with the dramaturgy ; in opera it is mainly done by the musical director , in musicals by the director and producer, in stage dance by the choreographer . The artistic director must announce the cast by posting a reasonable period of time before the start of the rehearsal.
In the film and in the advertising , the term for the group of selected performers instead cast Cast ( Engl. Cast : Instrumentation ',' Ensemble ') is used. The selection - the so-called casting - is made by the film director and producer .
A manifestly unsuitable occupation with a performer from a false compartment is miscast called; changing an actor for the same role is called reshuffling .
