Roll command

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A motorized ("rolling") military or police patrol was originally referred to as a roll command .

In the Nazi state and in the areas occupied by it, rolling commandos were often used unscrupulously to maintain power and to terrorize and murder the population (see Hamann Roll Command ). SA-Rollkommando s and SS-Rollkommando s always struck quickly, like an attack and violently. In a broader sense, “Rollkommando” also means “a hired thugs ” in the area of organized crime .

The term is therefore no longer used in the police-military sector. Also because of the advanced motorization and specialization, other names are common ( special units ).
