Horst Köbbert (born February 12, 1928 in Rostock ; † July 11, 2014 there ) was a German entertainer, singer and television presenter. He was one of the most famous entertainers from Mecklenburg .

biography

Köbbert belonged to the Hitler Youth in his childhood and was arrested after the end of the Second World War and interned in special camp No. 9 Fünfeichen . He was only released on August 9, 1948. He then worked as a diver in his father's company . His talent for singing was discovered during this time. After a classical vocal training, he made his stage debut in 1956.

He became known in the GDR with sea ​​shanties and shanties . Together with Rica Déus and Hans Knauer , he hosted the successful maritime entertainment program Klock 8, aft Strom , which was broadcast on German television from 1966 to 1990 . In addition, he moderated for several years together with Manfred Uhlig and Lutz Stückrath , as a cabaret trio Die drei Dialektiker , the Saturday evening show Ein Kessel Buntes .

After the fall of the Berlin Wall , he and Carlo von Tiedemann presented the program Große Hafenrundfahrt on Norddeutscher Rundfunk . His hometown Rostock honored him in 1998 with an entry in the city's book of honor . Due to illness, he retired from show business in 2003. Köbbert died on July 11, 2014 in Rostock. According to his wife, his ashes were buried off Warnemünde in the Baltic Sea.
