Romāns Lajuks

Romāns Lajuks (born June 19, 1964 in Riga ) is a Latvian football referee .

Lajuks has been a FIFA referee since 1993 . He whistled his first international match on October 16, 2002 with the European Championship qualifier between Luxembourg and Romania . From 2003 he was a referee for the UEFA Cup . After he also led a friendly for the first time in 2004, he made his debut in qualifying for the UEFA Champions League on July 27, 2005 with the game between Shelbourne FC and Steaua Bucharest . Lajuks also refereed several games in the CIS Cup in Moscow in the same year . In qualifying for the 2006 World Cup , he led the game between Ireland and Faroe Islands on October 13, 2004, which ended 2-0. Until 2008 he was still active as a referee in various international friendlies. Since 2008 he has only whistled in club competitions at European level.
