Roman Brunner (cyclist)

Roman Brunner (born September 19, 1935 in Zurich ) is a former cyclist from Switzerland and national cycling champion .

Athletic career

Brunner began cycling in 1952. In 1954 he qualified for what was then the A-class for amateurs in Switzerland. In 1956 he won the season opening race in Locarno and the reservoir tour in Klingnau . He achieved his greatest success in 1958 when he won the national championships in the team time trial with his club RV Höngg . His particular strengths lay in the criteria in which he won several times over the years of his cycling career and achieved podium places.
