Roman Diethelm (born February 15, 1980 in Frauenfeld ) is a Swiss ice hockey player who has been under contract as a defender at EHC Frauenfeld in the first division since 2012 .

Career

Roman Diethelm began his career as an ice hockey player at HC Thurgau , for which he was active in the National League B from 1998 to 2001 . The defender then moved to Lørenskog IK in the Norwegian GET league for a year , where he scored six points in 14 games in the 2001/02 season. In the summer of 2002, the left shooter returned to his Swiss homeland, where he was on the ice for one season each for the second division clubs SC Langenthal and HC Thurgau before he received a contract with their league rivals EHC Visp during the 2004/05 season .

In the summer of 2006, Diethelm was signed by HC Martigny , which he left before the end of the season to join HC Sierre . During the 2007/08 season he was transferred to EHC Biel , with whom he was promoted to the National League A as NLB champion . When he was promoted from Biel, however, he did not get a new contract, so he stayed in the NLB and moved to EHC Olten for two seasons . In the summer of 2010 he first returned to Thurgau one more time, before he was loaned to the EHC Winterthur from the third-class first division in December of that year and was later given permanently to them.
