Roman Iossifowitsch Jurjew-Lunz

Roman Iosifovich Yuriev Lunz ( Russian Роман Иосифович Юрьев-Лунц * 23. March 1902 in Moscow , Russian Empire ; † 22. August 1985 ) was a Soviet theater - and film - actors and Estrada Artists.

Life

Jurjew-Lunz was born into a family of doctors in Moscow. He showed early artistic interest and oriented himself to the actor Igor Vladimirovich Ilyinsky.

After the death of his parents, relatives moved into their house and due to the recent outbreak of World War I, Jurjew-Lunz volunteered for the army. Here he served under Mikhail Tukhachevsky .

After the end of the war, Jurjew-Lunz lived temporarily in the provinces, where he gained his first theater experience. After returning to his hometown, he joined the "Moscow Estrada and Miniature Theater". When this was closed, Jurjew-Lunz switched to the music theater "Moskonzert", where he appeared over a period of 50 years. During the German-Soviet War he also played for the entertainment of the front troops. His stage partners included big names such as Tatjana Peltzer and Maria Vladimirovna Mironowa.

Jurjew-Lunz was first seen on screen in 1940 in a stage recording in which he portrayed the figure of Patachon . In 1946 he impersonated the Soviet politician Andrei Alexandrovich Zhdanov in The Oath , but was not mentioned in the credits . Under Alexander Rous direction, he gave the role of "Ali Hussein, inventor of the aquarium" in The Beautiful Varvara , who successfully freed for the title character. Jurje-Lunz played a robber in The Deer with the Golden Antlers . He had his last film appearance in 1978 in a small supporting role as a servant in a film adaptation of Anton Chekhov's A Drama on the Hunt .
