The deer with the golden antlers (original title: Russian Золотые рога , Solotyje roga ; the golden antlers) is a Soviet fairy tale film by Alexander Rou from 1973.
action
In the forest there lives a magnificent stag with golden antlers, which protects the poor and the weak, but prefers to avoid evil. The widow Evdokija lives in the village near the forest with her twins Maschenka and Daschenka, their big brother Kirjuschka and their ancient grandfather. One day, while looking for mushrooms, the twins see the deer as it is being hunted by predators. A short time later, despite their mother's prohibition, the two decide to go deeper into the forest (to the birch grove on the swamp) to find more mushrooms. They are lured deeper into the forest by forest spirits until they find the “king mushroom” that they just want to take with them. The witch Baba Jaga (played by Mr. Georgi Milljar) finds her and is angry about her behavior. She transforms them with the magic spell: “cellar louse, fly dung - whatever annoys me, it has to go. One and two and three and four - I will turn you into animals. ” Into fawns.
The worried widow now sets off with her dog in search of her daughters. On the way she meets the "deer with the golden antlers" and saves him from the robbers by sending them in the wrong direction. Out of gratitude, the deer gives her a magic ring and recommends that she go to the “Red Sun” to find her daughters. In the meantime, Kirjuschka decides to look for his sisters on her own with the cat Waskia. When the mother comes to the “Red Sun”, she sends her to her little brother, the “Clear Moon”, but even he cannot help her and sends her to the “Whirlwind”, who sees everything and knows everything. Meanwhile, the band of robbers is enjoying a hearty celebration. The "eddy wind" finally knows where her daughters are, in the realm of the witch Baba Jaga. The witch sees Yevdokia coming from afar and starts a forest fire, but the ring protects her mother. At night, Baba Jaga, camouflaged by a cloak of invisibility, goes on a hunt with her walking “witch's house on chicken legs”. She meets Kiryushka, whom she turns into a billy goat, but the cat Waskia escapes and finds Yevdokija, whom he leads to the witch. When the widow finally meets Baba Jaga, there is a fight between “good” and “bad”. Evdokija takes a little "Russian soil" from a sack that was given to her and turns into a " Valkyrie " with the words "Home earth, save us!" And takes on the fight against the devotee Baba Yaga. She decides the dispute for herself and can break the spell of the witch and free her children. The inhabitants of the forest released by the witch drive away the robbers and poor Baba Jaga and her witch's house are thrown into the swamp. Finally, the animals of this Russian forest (e.g. porcupines ) celebrate a festival.
