Roman Anatolijowytsch Schchurenko ( Ukrainian Роман Анатолійович Щуренко , English transcription Roman Shchurenko ; born September 14, 1976 in Nikopol ) is a Ukrainian long jumper .
The greatest success of his career was celebrated at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, when he surprisingly won the bronze medal in the long jump with a width of 8.31 m. At the European Athletics Championships in Munich in 2002 , he finished fourth.
He was twice Ukrainian champion in long jump (1998-1999).
Roman Shchurenko is 1.88 m and weighs 82 kg.
