Romina Achatz

Romina Sylvia Achatz (born in Villach ) is an Austrian director , radio producer , performer and writer . She is best known for the documentary Bare Life.

life and work

Achatz studied theater, film and media studies and film in Vienna ( Friedl Kubelka's film school ), Rome and Prague. She graduated on "The Bodies of Politics in the Work of Pier Paolo Pasolini ". Achatz received a scholarship as part of the PhD research team "Artistic Self-Techniques" at the University for Artistic and Industrial Design in Linz . She did her doctorate in cultural studies on the subject of “The breath of the impersonal. De-subjectivation and the thinking of the outside in the dance of Ko Murobushi ”. The work was devoted to techniques and strategies of de-subjectivation or borderline experience in the artistic work of the Japanese choreographer Ko Murobushi . Your supervisor wasThomas Macho . In 2013 Romina Achatz and the Japanese choreographer Minako Seki gave performative lectures on dance and imagination at universities in Berlin and Frankfurt am Main. Achatz studied dance education in Linz and learned dance from choreographers such as Ko Murobushi, Yoshito Ohno, Minako Seki and Yuko Kaseki . She gives lectures and a. at universities and archives in Tokyo, Mexico, Lisbon and Austria about Ko Murobushi, dance, the Japanese avant-garde, performances, philosophy, hip-hop and activism.

Since 2017 she has been producing the radio show and the podcast Fem * Poem ( Greek ποίημα poiēma , German 'creation' ; Greek ποίησ poiēo , German 'I do' ). The program is in dialogue form and deals with literature, activism, body politics, queerness and feminism. Writers such as Friederike Mayröcker , Marion Steinfellner , Barbi Marković and Ann Cotten are guests on the show .
