Marion Steinfellner

Marion Steinfellner (born December 23, 1973 in Mistelbach ) is an Austrian writer , butoth dancer and painter .

life and work

Marion Steinfellner studied German, philosophy, psychology and education in Vienna and Mexico . She studied modern dance at the Vienna Conservatory and learned butoh dance with Kazuo Ohno and Minako Seki, among others . She wrote her diploma thesis in 2001 on the subject of the moment of foreign encounters in Mexican exile using Alice Rühle-Gerstel as an example .

Marion Steinfellner is a member of the Graz authors' assembly , the interest group of Austrian authors and the IntAKT. International action group of female artists .

In 2004 Marion Steinfellner played the role of Marianne in the performance of Stories from the Vienna Woods in the Künstlerhaus Vienna .

In 2010 she worked alongside Friederike Mayröcker and Valie Export in the art video Traveling Salesman on Art by René Schmalz and Raphael Zürcher.

Since 2014 she has been developing original poetic dance pieces in collaboration with Herbert J. Wimmer : TRANSPOETIKPERFORMANCES . Since 2015, the composer, orchestra director, musician and radio designer ( Orange 94.0 ) Michael Fischer from the Vienna Improvisers Orchestra has been making the music for these text and dance performances with his ad hoc soundscaping and feedback saxophone .

She had other performances in Innsbruck, Vienna ( 21er Haus , Alten Schmiede ), Berlin ( Heilig-Kreuz-Kirche , DOCK 11 ), Dolcedo , Manzanillo and Buenos Aires .
