Augusta Laar (* 1955 ) is a German artist , poet and musician . She lives and works alternately in Krailling near Munich and in Vienna .

life and work

Augusta Laar studied musicology and piano in Munich and poetry at the poetry school in Vienna . Among other things, she was a student of Nick Cave . In addition to the classic areas of art such as photography , video and drawing , she deals with installations, interdisciplinary and interactive art projects. Her long-term project on poetic communication "Madonna says ..." should be mentioned here in particular. Together with her husband Kalle Laar , she is part of the electronic poetry duo Kunst oder Unfall .

Her poetry has been published in numerous magazines (e.g. Das Gedicht , Lichtungen , besides ) and anthologies. She was one of the initiators of the Munich poetry reading series Lyrik Plattform und Schamrock - Salon der Dichterinnen . The Schamrock Festival of Women Poets also goes back to her initiative. She is also the initiator and moderator of the Lyrik-Talk discussion series that takes place in Munich, Vienna and Lucerne.

She is a member of the groups of authors viennapoetics , Wientouristinnen , lyrinx and Reimfrei .

She gives seminars and is or has been a lecturer in the areas of poetry, perception and sound for the following institutions: School for Poetry Vienna, Wiener Festwochen , Jeunesse Vienna , Literaturhaus Munich , Goethe Institute Salvador da Bahia and Córdoba, The Temporary Soundmuseum .
