Claudia Gehrke (born June 1, 1953 in Berlin ) is a German publisher and publicist .

Life

Gehrke grew up in Frankfurt am Main and studied German, mathematics and philosophy in Tübingen . From the 1970s to the early 1980s she organized a salon in Tübingen, from which she founded the bankruptcy book publishing house in 1978 together with the Japanese specialist Peter Pörtner . The publishing house focuses on literature, queer culture, eroticism, photography and travel books, including on Japan and the Canary Islands . Gehrke publishes in art catalogs, anthologies and magazines.
