She then moved to Berlin and studied painting at the Berlin University of the Arts from 1972 to 1979 , most recently as a master student of the informal painter Hann Trier ; at the same time as Rainer Fetting , Salomé and Helmut Middendorf , who studied with Karl Horst Hödicke . During her studies she worked at the Berlin Schaubühne , at that time under the direction of Peter Stein , as a prop master, prompter and foyer lady. Link to the picture
Her neo-expressionist portraits of women reflect the themes of her own life. The similarity of the pictures with her own person is unmistakable. The works of the early 1980s revolved largely around the theme of "I" ( night owl , sophisticated lady , always me ). After marriage, the birth of sons and retreat into private domestic life, her works increasingly reflect her family environment (children, kitchen, art). To this day she has remained true to her painting style. Her works are in public collections and museums. In addition to painting, Elvira Bach also works on bronze sculptures, ceramics and Murano glass sculptures.
