Matrix (subtitle: magazine for literature and art ) is a German literary magazine.
history
Since 2005, Traian Pop has published the literary magazine Matrix in the Edition Matrix series in the Ludwigsburg Pop Verlag , which he runs . The founding members include Ulrich Bergmann , Francisca Ricinski , Uli Rothfuss , Horst Samson , Dieter Schlesak and Rainer Wedler .
Four issues appear annually. Pop formed an editorial team with a large staff who took on the various tasks that are essential in terms of selection and quality for designing the magazine.

Conception
The magazine has a length of around 200 to 300 pages. Essay, book review, story, essay, feature, poem, interview, novel excerpt, theater play, translation on free topics or thematic focuses are covered in chapters such as studio , debut , reviews , contemporary history and the like. a. and thus enable a comprehensive view of the contemporary literary work of authors in the German-speaking area and beyond. In the category The world and its poets authors from various countries and language areas are presented. The focus of individual issues is, for example, the presentation of Romanian-German writers such as Johann Lippet , Herta Müller and Horst Samson or German-speaking writers of Romanian origin such as Papi or Francisca Ricinski. In addition to the current literature based on a universal concept, each issue of the magazine's Matrix exhibition is devoted to a contemporary artistic work. a. is presented with multi-colored illustrations, or art exhibitions that are presented in words and pictures.

In 2011, Traian Pop added the Bawülon magazine (subtitle: Süddeutsche MATRIX für Literatur und Kunst ), which focuses on the literature of the state of Baden-Württemberg, as a second pillar of the literary magazine Matrix, which focuses on literature in its limitless entirety Design matrix is comparable. This means that the quarterly magazine Bawülon - like the entire program of Pop Verlag - feels committed to the European idea : It wants to bring the diverse possibilities of culture, language and literature of the European continent closer to a German-speaking audience. It enables writers and artists from all over Europe to get to know each other better. Poetry and prose, book reviews, essays on current and historical, cultural and political, artistic and biographical topics, interviews, information about publishers, literary festivals, exhibitions and publications from all over Europe form the cornerstones of the program.
In the editorial of the first issue, the editor states: The new magazine BAWÜLON will not be a Babylon of fornication and sin, not even of disturbing and destructive confusion of languages, but a place of polyphony, of controversy in poesia.
The editorial management is held by Traian Pop and Rainer Wedler, the editorial staff includes Johann Lippet, Horst Samson and Imre Török.
