Pop Verlag was founded in 2003 by Traian Pop , a Romanian-German writer and translator .

Publishing concept

The publisher, which puts Goethe's idea of a cross-border, complementary and promoting ›universal literature ‹ into practice, publishes contemporary literature by European and non-European authors in German or in bilingual editions.

In addition to Albanian , American , Bulgarian , Chinese , English , French , Georgian , Italian , Mongolian , New Hebrew , Polish , Romanian , Serbian , Sorbian , Russian , Turkish and Vietnamese literature, books - edited in two languages ​​- appear in a language only spoken by a few people like Aromanian .

One of the first publications was an anthology of contemporary poetry from France and Germany. In the meantime, in addition to books of poetry, books of stories and essays, novels, (literary) cookbooks, detective novels, music books, travel literature, monographs, diaries and theater pieces can be found in the publisher's program, all of which are published in the respective series.

Pop Verlag publishes the Matrix and Bawülon literary magazines in the Matrix edition (quarterly), each of which is dedicated to a particular topic, mostly the complete works of an author.
