Matthias Kehle

Matthias Kehle (born February 17, 1967 in Karlsruhe ) is a German writer.

Life

Matthias Kehle grew up in Ettlingen with a sister. His mother was a secretary at the local community college , his father a technician at Siemens . After graduating from Eichendorff-Gymnasium , he studied German and sociology at the Universities of Heidelberg and Karlsruhe. Initially he was a research assistant at the Institute for Sociology at the University of Karlsruhe , and since 2002 he has worked as a freelance writer , journalist , critic , publisher , editor and organizer of literary events (including the Northern Black Forest Literature Days and the Konstanz Poetry Festival). In addition to journalistic articles for daily newspapers and magazines , he published poetry and prose in numerous literary magazines and anthologies . From 2009 to 2013 Kehle was state chairman of the Association of German Writers (VS) in Baden-Württemberg . He is a member of the PEN Center Germany and lives in Karlsruhe. In 2014/2015 he had a teaching position at KIT for contemporary poetry. In mid-2016 he was elected Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Werner Dürrson Foundation . Matthias Kehle was a member of the Advisory Board of the Karlsruhe Literary Society from 1999 to 2017.
