Mircea M. Pop

Mircea M. Pop (born May 8, 1948 in Mişca ) is a German-Romanian writer , critic and translator .

Life

Mircea M. Pop studied Romance studies in Klausenburg and worked as a high school teacher and school principal. In the summer of 1989 he and his wife Katharina, nee Koch, over to Germany. He completed retraining as an industrial clerk and then worked as a library employee in Heidelberg.

He made his lyrical debut in 1985 with the cycle Laudă tăcerii (German: Praise to the silence ) in the anthology Afinităţile izvoarelo r (German: The similarities of the sources ) published by the Timisoara Facla Verlag .

Pop works as a translator in various anthologies and various literary magazines in the German and Romanian-speaking countries. Pop's contributions can be found in the magazines Neue Sirene , LOG International (Vienna) and POEZIA ( Jassy ), Der Literat , Matrix etc. He has received several awards for translations in the Romanian-speaking area.

Mircea M. Pop lives in Heidelberg.
