Over the centuries, different spellings of the place name appeared: 1249 Myske , 1332, 1333 Micke , 1334, 1335 Miske , 1337 Micha , 1332–1337, 1438, 1453 Myske , Miske , 1528 Miske , 1548 Miske , 1808, 1839, 1847 Miske , 1858, 1863 Miske , 1877 Miske , 1882 Miske , Misca , 1893 Miske , 1900 Miske , 1909 Mişca , Miske , 1913 Tőzmiske , 1921 Mişca , Tőz-miske , 1925, 1932, 1956 Mişca .

After the Peace of Karlowitz (1699), Arad and the Maroscher Land came under Austrian rule , while the Banat south of the Marosch remained under Turkish rule until the Peace of Passarowitz (1718) . On the Josephine land survey is Miske entered.

As a result of the Austro-Hungarian Compromise (1867), the Arad region, like the whole of Banat and Transylvania, was annexed to the Kingdom of Hungary within the Austro-Hungarian dual monarchy . The official place name was Miske and from 1913 Tőzmiske until the place fell to the Kingdom of Romania on June 4, 1920 as a result of the Treaty of Trianon and was renamed Mişca .
